"Mom!" Why do I have to go? Were not that far from home, let's just go back." It was Saturday afternoon on April 5th 2010 and I was headed to some leadership conference down in Monterey. I would have driven myself but my mom didn't trust me enough. She thought I would just leave during the middle of the seminar. Anyway, I was to stay in the forest part of town and sleep in some cabins. I started to wonder what it would be like; staying there for two weeks seemed like a really long time. I had never really warmed up to the idea, but it would be good for me in the future. Out of nowhere my mom's voice shattered my train of thought.

"Andrew, trust me, it's going to be good for you in the future. Just think about it." I scowled as she left me to ponder her words in silence. My mom was always right about that stuff so I didn't see the point in arguing. I sighed and looked through the car window. When I did there was nothing but dark ominous clouds threatening to rain. Of course I thought to myself, just a bad omen just to brighten up the prospect of going away for two weeks. Again I sighed. I put my head on the car window and slowly drifted off to sleep.

It was about an hour later when I woke up, well according to the clock in the car it was an hour and five minutes. "Andrew, wake up, were almost there." I sighed and pulled my head off the window.

"I'm already awake mom, and why do have to be there so early?" I gestured towards the clock which said 5:00. We're supposed to be there at 5:45.

"Because, it doesn't look good if you're late." She replied simply, keeping her eyes on the road. Yet again I knew she was right.

"Whatever." I mumbled under my breath. After about 15 minutes my mom parked in a dirt lot. "Is this where it's supposed to be?" I inquire.

"Yeah." She sits there for a second, keeping her eyes ahead. It was raining. "You should put on a sweater; I don't want you to get sick."

"It's not that cold outside, I'll be fine." I assure her.

"Well I'm going to miss you..."

"Yeah, ok bye." I grab my bags and step out of the car. My mom also steps out of the car and gives me a hug.

"I love you. Bye."

"Ok bye." I found a dirt road and followed it down into the forest with my bags in tow. No more than 50 ft later I found a fairly large group of people squished under a tarp. "Hi guys." I said cheerfully. Most of my responses were waves or grunts but two stood out the most.

"Hi! How are you? I'm Ashley, what's your name?" a blonde girl with bright blue eyes asked from within the group.

"I'm Andrew, and it's nice to meet you." I then smiled warmly. Then just about three feet away from Ashley, some pale skinned, dark brown almost black hair, green eyed guy turns his head away as if he was sulking.

"Hn." He mutters loud enough for me to hear. I, trying to be the nice guy, said,

"Is something wrong?"

"Yeah actually there is."

"Well what is it?"

"You're one more idiot to watch over." I scowled at him. Here I am standing in the rain when this guy is complaining about me being an idiot!

"Well my name is Andrew, I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but don't worry I can take care of myself." I try to give a reassuring grin, but it's too cold outside and I fail.

"Is that so?"

"Yup."

"Then shouldn't you get out of the rain so you don't get sick?"

"Yeah whatever. You're just as bad as my mom." I mumble. Just then a lady with tan skin and brown hair walks up to the group.

"Hi guys! My name is Paula and I'm going to be the leader of this seminar."

"Hi Paula." We all replied in unison.

"Ok then I'll explain what were going to be doing tomorrow so you guys can just go to your cabins. The boys get the one on the left and the girls get the one on the right. Ok go!" all the kids started running towards the cabins, well except me and Mr. l-know-everything. I walked through the hallway and realized that it was more of a cafeteria than a cabin. Also, for each door there would be two beds and one bathroom.

Then I began to panic. Mr. whatever-his-name-is and I are behind the group. That means that if I don't hurry I'm going to be stuck in a room with him. I begin to pick up the pace but it's too late. The last person went into the last room with someone in it. Now I had no choice but to room with that snob. I sigh in defeat, head into the room, and throw my stuff on to the nearest bed.

No more than two seconds later Mr. l-hate-the-world walks in and puts his stuff on the other bed. "Ok now let's get this straight. You are not to touch my stuff or even look at it. You also have to go to bed when I do. I don't care if you're awake or not. I'll turn off the lights."

"Hold on there just a second, I don't even know your name and you're already bossing me around."

"My name isn't important. Just do what I say and we won't have any problems."

"Well it's important to me and in case you haven't noticed, we already have a problem!" I practically screamed, "It's you! I don't take lightly to people pushing me around, and I'm not a piece of meat to be tossed around either!" I turned away from him and lay down on my bed. "'night." I muttered angrily. I soon fell asleep and little did I know Mr. jerk-wad sighed deeply, turned off the lights, and said softly,

"Goodnight."

The week was pretty much the same. I would wake up, wait for my roommate to finish his shower, he would come out with only a towel on and tell me to go take my shower so he can get dressed. I would go in and when I came back out my roommate was gone with his bed made and a note on the nightstand saying that he went to breakfast already. I ignored the note, finished getting ready, and went to breakfast. I would meet up with Ashley who had become my best friend and we would sit together at a table and eat our breakfast. We would go to our seminars after, and luckily Ashley was in my group. But of course what comes up must come down. I also had that snob of a roommate in my group. After seminars, Ashley and I would go to lunch together and then again to more seminars. Then when we had some free time, we would walk through the forest. We had found this one spot by the river with a large tree stump big enough to sit three and there were flowers blooming everywhere. Ashley and I would sit and talk there for a while before we had dinner. Then after dinner we went our own ways. I would go to my room, find Mr. jerk-face already there reading a book on his bed, and then I would change into my pajamas. After that I would lay down in my bed and go to sleep. And every day after I fell asleep my roommate would turn off the lights, sigh deeply, and say, "Goodnight Andrew."

Then, just about one week before the seminar ended things began to change. When I woke up Mr. jerk-face was waiting on his bed.

"Hey Andrew, can I talk to you?"

"Fine."

"I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for acting like a jerk and I wanted to know if you would forgive me."

"....Of course." I smiled warmly.

"Thanks. And by the way my name is Seth." Then I saw it, he smiled for the first time in all the time we have been here.

"It's nice to finally see you smile too." I replied with a grin. "Well let's go eat breakfast then 'cuz I'm hungry." Seth laughed and said.

"Ok." We headed together to breakfast and sat down next to Ashley. She gave me a questioning look as if to ask why Seth was here so I got up and beckoned Ashley over.

"Hey, how come your roommate is with us I thought you didn't like him."

"I actually really like him a lot it's just that before he was being a jerk so I didn't show it."

"So what made him change his mind?"

"I don't know but it's nice that he's finally talking to me you know?"

"Yeah of course." Ashley replied smiling. We went back to eat and then Seth asked,

"So what happened?"

"Uuh Ashley forgot her pen in her room and she needed to get it so she asked me for one before but I didn't have one." I looked over at Ashley who took the hint and left us to be. But before she left she smiled and whispered,

"Good luck." I gave a slight scowl at her I knew that she was teasing me. I sat
down in front of Seth and finished eating quickly. When I did I said,

"Since we have another 20 minutes left before our seminars did you want to go do something?"

"Sure," he replied, "but what?"

"I'll show you." I replied with a grin. So we got up and when we left the cafeteria I took him to the spot by the river.

"Wow " Seth said under his breath."It's beautiful."

"Yeah it is." I went over to the tree stump and sat down. Seth was still staring in awe when I said, "you know you can come sit down." He came over slowly still looking around, but when he sat down his hand was on top of mine. I didn't mind of course but I wasn't sure if he noticed so I said, "uh Seth?"

"Yes?"

"You do know that your hand is on top of mine right?"

"Yes." I wasn't really expecting that answer so I didn't really know what to say. "Is that a problem?" he continued. Then out of nowhere he tightened his grip on my hand.

"Uh...well…..I-" He cut me off mid-sentence or mid-stuttering if you want to be technical and said softly,

"It's almost time to go to seminars; I'll let you think about it." He got up gracefully and walked off towards the camp.

"......Wow." I said to myself. "That was weird." The rest of the day was hell; I couldn't stop staring at Seth. And when I wasn't I noticed he was staring at me. It was really awkward so I skipped dinner (after telling Ashley what had happened of course) and went straight to bed.

Seth's POV (point of view)-

Jesus dinner was weird, Ashley just kept giggling the whole time... I thought to myself. I shook it off hoping that Andrew was in the room and didn't go wander off to the woods. I sighed in relief when I walked into our room, Andrew was there, but he was asleep. I can always talk to him tomorrow. I thought. I wanted to tell him how I felt about him but I didn't want to ruin our newfound friendship.... Screw it, I'm going to tell him tomorrow whether he likes it or not, I decided. I turned off the light said goodnight to Andrew and went to bed.

Normal POV-
I awoke to Seth's voice calling my name softly in my ear. "Andrew, wake up." I looked up and saw Seth still only wearing a towel but this time water was still dripping off of him. "Wow he's hot..." I said suddenly. Oh shit, I did not just do that, I told myself this time. I sat up suddenly blushing madly as I tried to avoid Seth's body Seth laughed and said,

"Thanks, I'll take that as a compliment." He smiled his beautiful smile and continued, "Anyway, you need to go take a shower, and it's almost time for breakfast." I got up quickly, grabbed some clothes, and practically ran to the bathroom out of embarrassment. After I had taken my shower I went to grab my towel, but it wasn't there. Damn, I forgot my towel, now I have to ask Seth to get it for me, if he's still there. I opened up the bathroom door just a crack and looked out; Seth was on his bed reading a book.

"Hey, Seth?"

"Yeah?" he replied not taking his eyes away from the book.

"I forgot my towel. Could you hand it to me?"

"I'll have to think about that one." He replied jokingly.

"Please please please." I begged

"Fine." He got up and handed me my towel.

"Thanks." I dried myself and got changed. When I got out Seth looked up at me with one eyebrow raised in confusion.

"Uh, were you planning on leaving with your shirt inside-out?" I looked at my shirt and began to blush deeply. Today was not my day. I took off my shirt, flipped it the right way and put it back on. When I did Seth was staring at me.

"Is it still wrong?" I asked looking down at my shirt.

"No your fine, let's go." Seth said shaking his head a little. During breakfast Seth got up and said, "Andrew can you come to the spot when you're done?"

"Sure." I looked at Ashley questioningly but she just giggled. Seth got up and left and when he did Ashley said,

"Come on lets go." She grabbed my hand and dragged me to the spot. We saw Seth there waiting for me, and before I knew it, Ashley shoved me so hard I stumbled forward and tripped over a tree branch. Luckily, Seth ran up and caught me before I hit the ground. When Ashley saw that he wasn't going to let me go, she laughed and said,

"Thanks for confirming my suspicions Seth. You two boys have fun but remember that seminars start in fifteen minutes." She then skipped off back to camp. I looked up at Seth who still had me in his arms and he was smiling at Ashley's disappearing figure.

"Seth you can let go now." I said

"I can. But who ever said I was going to?" I froze immediately out of shock. He laughed and looked down at me which made me feel short. He put a warm hand on my check and gently caressed my face. I opened my mouth to say something but I was interrupted by Seth who put one finger over my mouth. "Before you say anything or begin to protest let me say this, I think I love you Andrew." He then bent down and lightly kissed me on my lips. I stood there shocked not knowing what to say. Seth took my silence the wrong way and headed slowly back towards camp. Before he got too far I snapped out of my daze and grabbed his hand.

"Hold on," I said, "Who ever said that I didn't love you too?" Seth stopped and turned around. He was smiling.

"Thank you." He gave me another kiss but this time it was filled with passion. I began to deepen the kiss but Seth pulled away. I looked at him questioningly and he said, "We need to get to our seminars." I sighed.

"Fine..." Seth smiled and took my hand. We walked to our next seminar together. The rest of the week turned out to be the same. I would wake up to Seth's voice, get up, give him a kiss and go take a shower. After that we would go eat breakfast with Ashley who said that she always knew we were going to be together from the first day she met us. We would go to seminars, then to the spot where we would talk. Sometimes Ashley would join us too. We got to know each other a lot better, Seth wanted to go to the same college I did but he wanted to study to be a lawyer. It turned out that we actually went to rival high schools, but we didn't really care. But whenever Ashley was around and we started making out she would make gagging noises because apparently it's not very fun to watch two guys make out for 15 minutes straight. Then after lunch and seminars we would go to dinner and hang out with Ashley for a while so she would have someone other than stuck-up girls to talk to. We would usually talk about twilight and how the third movie would be coming out soon. All three of us had read the books so we were all going together when I did come out. Then Seth and I would go t our room and pretty much go to sleep. He would give me a kiss first then turn off the light and we would go to bed. Sometimes, in the mornings, I would wake up to find Seth in my bed. And he would give the lame and totally unrealistic excuse that it was cold in the room. I would scowl at him but he would just laugh and kiss me.
But then the last day came, and we were done with seminars so all we had to do was pack. After Seth and I had finished packing and making out we went outside to say goodbye to Ashley. We stood there in silence for a minute not wanting to say goodbye. I walked up first and gave Ashley a hug. Then Seth went after me and when he did he whispered something in her ear. She smiled and said no problem so I was pretty sure Seth said thanks for hooking us up.

After that we exchanged phone numbers so we could always stay in touch. Then we left each other with one more round of hugs and goodbyes. And one more kiss from Seth. When I got to my mom's car she asked me, "So how was it?"

My only response was this, "Thank you."  She smiled at me knowing that I meant it was good. I put my head on the window and fell asleep all the while dreaming of my experience.
